Reach Out and Read
Project Description
- Reach Out and Read is a national initiative to improve the reading interest and skills among pre-school and elementary school students by reading aloud to them in clinic waiting rooms.
- Student volunteer in the pediatric clinic waiting rooms at the Wishard Primary Care Center & Cottage Corner Community Health Center and show parents and children the fun and technique of reading together.
- This service project is very self-directed. We encourage reading sessions to be about one hour and that students read 1-4 times per month.
- We do request that you e-mail one of the Co-Chairs with the times and locations that you intend to read, so that we can prevent overlaps.
